Abstract

In addition to being twelve months, tourism movements are seasonal in some regions. Beyond that, the crisis experienced inside and outside the country and so on. reasons and increase in tourist numbers. Therefore, while the number of personnel within the sector decreases in some years, it increases in some years. The aim of this research was to reveal the expectations of the staff working as interns in travel agencies and nine questions were asked to the managers of travel agencies and it was tried to reveal how the interns were working in the internship process. A qualitative study method was determined in accordance with the aim of the study and the research was completed with semi-structured interviews with 8 travel agency owners and 4 travel agency managers. As a result of the research, it is understood that while trainees are expected to be open to development, listen to words, adapt to teamwork and be friendly, it is understood that the trainees have expectations such as giving practical training rather than theoretical knowledge.
