Abstract

The visit of elements and houses of worship entails participation in tourism activities while satisfying people in a spiritual sense. An important destination for faith tourism is Amasya, also known as “The City of Princes.” The purpose of this study is to determine the faith tourism potential of Amasya Province and to reveal the current situation. In parallel with this information, places within the scope of faith tourism were visited, and officials were interviewed. At the same time, special permits were taken for taking pictures of the places of worship, which are still under restoration. Although there are various studies on the tourism potential of Amasya, there is no study on faith tourism regarding Amasya province. When the results of the study were evaluated as a whole, it was seen that the information signs related to the sacred elements were lacking, and that it is not a center of attraction yet for neither domestic nor foreign tourists.
