Abstract

Since descriptive and content analysis has not been done before to represent the general curriculum of the Tourism Management Department, which provides education within the Faculty in Turkey, current study is aimed to fill this gap and it is aimed to illustrate the curriculum courses of the Tourism Management Department through themes. The research sample consists of 54 Tourism Management curricula in 45 different universities in Turkey. The interpretative paradigm was adopted in the research, and a descriptive and content analysis of 5161 course and program detail information collected through document review was conducted through MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2022 program. According to the results obtained as a result of the analyzes made, it has been seen that Tourism Management curriculum courses given in different faculties at the undergraduate level are not in a standard structure and consist of very different courses and modules. In the research, both state and foundation universities have the most "management" theme and "general management" courses are included in the sub-codes of management. The Tourism Management Department is mostly carried out within the Faculty of Tourism with a rate of 75%, and it has been determined that the language of the program and course is mostly Turkish.
