Abstract

This study aims to reveal the conceptual, intellectual and social structure of work-life balance research in tourism literature. In this direction, bibliometric analysis method was adopted. The 153 studies obtained from the Web of Science and Scopus databases were analysed using the bibliometric package of R software. The findings showed that work-life balance was mostly investigated in relation to job and life satisfaction, organisational commitment, presenteeism, job performance, job stress, burnout and turnover. Work-life balance was frequently addressed in studies with the dimension of work-life conflict. The determinants and consequences of work-life interaction at the individual level, work-family enrichment, the effects of work-life balance on guests, work-life practices, gender research in work-life balance are themes with potential for development. To the best of the author's knowledge, this study is expected to contribute to the field as it is the first study in the national literature that examines work-life balance studies in tourism enterprises by bibliometric analysis method.
