Abstract

COVID-19 virus, which causes millions of people to die globally, has adversely affected the tourism sector like many other sectors. With the curfew, travel restriction, cancellation of national and international flights, the tourism sector has also stopped. Within this framework, it is aimed to examine the regulations announced by various institutions in order to accelerate the Turkish tourism sector. The certificate programs, incentives and rules that must be followed during the work have been examined by the content analysis method and it is seen that the most comprehensive arrangements have been made in the accommodation sector. With the “Healthy Tourism Certificate Program” organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, both the visitor and employee health are provided with hygiene rules for many departments. However, it is seen that there are not enough arrangements in travel agencies, professional tourist guides and transportation sector. In this context, it is suggested that certification, hygiene-themed concepts and nature-based tourism types should be at the forefront for each business line in order to provide confidence in line with changing tourist expectations.
