Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of the perceived risk of domestic tourists in Turkey on travel anxiety and travel intentions during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, a total of 391 data were collected online from potential domestic tourists using the survey technique. Data were collected in November and December 2021. Before testing the hypotheses, to ensure the validity of the measurement tool confirmatory factor analysis was conducted. According to the results obtained from the research, a significant effect of health, psychological and travel risks, which are among the risk dimensions perceived by domestic tourists, on travel anxiety was determined. It was determined that financial risk did not have a significant effect on travel anxiety. On the other hand, while travel risk and financial risk did not have a significant effect on travel intention, it was revealed that health and psychological risk affected travel intention.
