Abstract

This research aims to examine the destination image perceptions of foreign tourists visiting Istanbul in terms of demographic characteristics. In this context, it was investigated whether the destination image perceptions of foreign tourists regarding different features of Istanbul differ according to their gender, age, marital status, education level and income level. Quantitative research methods were used in the study and browsing model was preferred as the research design. The data of the research was collected by face-to-face interviews with 448 foreign tourists visiting Istanbul using the survey technique in October and November 2021. It was concluded that foreign tourists' destination image perceptions differ according to gender, marital status, education level and income level. It has been determined that men, married people, older people, primary school graduates and those with high monthly income have lower destination image perceptions.
