Examination of Mardin, as a Touristic Destination in terms of Walkability

Abstract
The aim of this study is to measure the perceptions of tourists visiting Mardin destination regarding walkability. In addition, researching the factors affecting the walkability for tourists generates another purpose of the study. In pursuant to the purpose of the study, face-to-face questionnaire that were collected from 486 visitors have been analysed through applying t-Test and ANOVA. It was supported that the participants considered the factor of “traffic freeness” as the most important factor affecting walkability and that the fact that walkability was a matter that was taken into consideration by the visitors in touristic destinations.
