Domestic Tourist Behavior of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and Effects on Travel Trends

Abstract

Various crises occur from time to time on the world and the tourism industry is highly affected by these crises. Finally, the current COVID-19 outbreak has had a serious impact that can change and/or transform people's attitudes and behaviors towards tourism. In this context, the aim of the present study is to determine the effects of COVID-19 on potential local tourists' attitudes and behaviors and travel trends. In the study, data were collected from 731 people by utilized the survey technique, which is one of the quantitative research methods. As a result of the study, it was determined that the majority of people reduced and/or postponed their travel plans, the touristic products preferred by individuals began to differentiate and their hygiene sensitivity increased to a large extent.
