Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to determine the tourism expenditure of the 15-year tourism performance of Turkey between 2005 and 2019, by taking into consideration parameters such as the number of visitors residing in Turkey and visiting abroad, the average expenditure per capita, tourism income, number of visitors, number of visits to the facility and number of overnight stays. In the study, Turkey's tourism performance was analyzed using CRITIC and MABAC Methods. As a result of the CRITIC Analysis, it was concluded that the criterion with the highest impact on Turkey's tourism performance is the number of visitors residing in Turkey and visiting abroad, and the one with the lowest impact is the number of visitors. As a result of the MABAC Analysis, it was determined that while 2019 is the year when Turkey showed the most successful tourism performance, the year when it was the least successful is 2016. In 2016, there was a 30% contraction compared to the previous year due to the problems experienced with Turkey's tourism performance, border neighbors and some internal turmoil. However, 2019 was the record year of the tourism industry in the world and in Turkey.
