Evaluation of National Graduate Thesis on Medical Tourism Themed (2008-2020)

Abstract

In this research, 53 masters and 11 doctoral theses on medical tourism in Turkey between 2008- 2020 years were investigated and the academic approaches to medical tourism were evaluated. In this regard, hints are predicted to be obtained about the points where graduate studies are limited and the reasons by including the years 2018-2020, which were studied more intensively. For this purpose, using the "document analysis" method, the database of the Council of Higher Education Thesis Center was scanned with the keywords "medical tourism" and the contents of all the theses were analysis as bibliometrics. As a result of the research, it has been observed that the number of theses prepared between 2018-2020 years is higher than the theses made in other years, and mixed studies are given as much weight as qualitative and quantitative studies between these years. In addition, it has been seen that the studies between 2018-2020 years have richer content in models and new methods that they can guided for new studies on medical tourism in the future.
