Main Article Content
Abstract
Sustainability is a concept that becomes more prominent day by day and whose importance is understood at a global level. In this study, the awareness of individuals within the scope of sustainability was examined based on Mersin province. Between 01.02.2024-18.04.2024, 416 valid survey data were obtained through the field study carried out with convenience sampling technique. In this context, individuals' sustainability awareness is discussed in four dimensions: practice awareness, attitude awareness, behavior awareness and environmental awareness. Following descriptive statistics, the data were analysed with independent samples t-test and one way ANOVA. As a result of the findings, it was determined that practice awareness differed according to gender, age and educational status. Attitude awareness and behavior awareness were found to differ according to child status and educational status. It has been determined that attitude awareness and environmental awareness differed according to occupation. It is hoped that the results obtained within the scope of the data will contribute to the branding of Mersin province as a "sustainable city".
