Perception of Hotel Employees' Information Communication Technologies: The Case of Konya

Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is considered as the most important development affecting human history after the agriculture and industrial revolution. The innovations it has brought at the macro and micro levels have made the competition strategy of the industries indisputable. These innovations have changed the tourism industry significantly. In order to keep up with this change and provide competitive advantage, tourism business have adapted their employees to this technology. The aim of this research is to reveal the perception of ICT of the tourism business employees. Data were collected via a questionnaire and conveniende sampling method in December 2018 and January 2019 and the data obtained were analyzed and interpreted in SPSS program. In the light of this research, it was observed that the frequency of ICT use was directly related to the level of education and welfare. It was concluded that the level of perception of the ICT of the employees did not differ by gender, but differed in some expressions according to age groups and education levels.
