The Effects of Institutional Level on Employee Job Satisfaction and Employee Performance: A Research in Hotel Businesses

Abstract

In the study, it has been endeavored to determine the effect of institutionalization levels in hotel businesses on the job satisfaction and performance of the employees. Population is comprised of employee working in the hotel business in Antalya. By virtue of the difficulty of reaching the population, sampling survey has been preferred. A research was conducted over sample, formed with data from 400 employees of different 3,4 and 5 starts hotels in Antalya. Data from research is assessed with using SPSS (20.0) software. Correlation analysis, regression analysis, t-test and ANOVA were used in the analysis of the data. An average relation was found between the participants' perceptions of institutionalization and their job satisfaction and employee performance levels. In addition, it has been found that the management approach and internal audit activity which are the sub-dimensions of institutionalization, are related to job satisfaction and employee performance. In the context of the results in the research, it has been seen that institutionalization has an effect on the performance and job satisfaction of the employees. For this reason, it is thought that it is an important necessity for sector managers to pay attention to institutionalization and to use institutionalization methods in order for the performance and job satisfaction of the employees to be high.
