The Bibliometric Analysis of Master's and Doctoral Thesis on Cittaslow Subject

Abstract

Today, when our consumption habits change day by day and resources are being consumed faster, sustainability policies have started to take place more in our lives. Cittaslow movement has also emerged with the aim of protecting existing culture and assets in cities, and it has begun to be widely applied in Turkey. In this research, it is aimed to examine the postgraduate theses in the field of slow cities (Cittaslow) in Turkey. The postgraduate theses examined within the scope of the research were obtained from the records of the Higher Education Institution Thesis Center. A total of 97 postgraduate theses, 16 of which were doctoral and 81 master's theses, which were prepared between 2010 and 2020 and were allowed access, were examined. This study is important in terms of the first content analysis of the theses in the field of Cittaslow in our country. According to the results of the research, it was understood that most of the postgraduate studies conducted in the field of Cittaslow were master level studies, and articles were mostly used in the references made in the bibliography. It was determined that the domestic resource rate in resource utilization was higher at 70%, while the foreign resource utilization rate remained at a lower level at 30%.
